The SecurityExpo—trade fair for security technology—achieved an excellent reputation in international expert committees. This year, the SecurityExpo opened its doors in Munich on 26 and 27 of June. The latest innovations and technologies around the topic of security were presented.
From video surveillance, fire protection, cybersecurity to access control: Visitors were able to find out about the latest developments not only at the trade fair stands, but also in the two presentation forums. First-class speakers from the industry guaranteed an informative event. In addition to well-known names such as DOM Security, Uhlmann & Zacher, dormakaba and Abus Security Tech, Tapkey was also present on site.
The leap into the smartphone-based world
Our COO, Gregor Zehetner gave a presentation on the benefits of mobile access control for lock manufacturers. He explained how lock manufacturers can quickly and cost-effectively integrate cloud and smartphone-based access into their own locking products. Because one thing is clear: the demand for “unlocking with a smartphone” is increasing. Thanks to the different integration options, new product lines for growth markets can be created.
“Tapkey is more than just a mobile app. It's a digital access platform with very powerful integration capabilities,” says Gregor Zehetner.
The trend towards smartphones as access mediums is raising. Especially in the B2B sector, such as in coworking spaces, shared offices or apartment rentals, the demand for smartphone-based access control is growing strongly. All of these new sharing business models have great potential for access technology. Did you miss the presentation? Then take a look at it (in German).
In the tracks of future and innovation
This year's focus was on smart building applications. The target group of the trade fair are architects, planners, building managers and the electrical specialist trade. We also took the opportunity and visited some other booths to be up to date.
Uhlmann and Zacher presented current system developments from the world of electronic locking systems. Assa Abloy presented its scalable system, Scala, which can be integrated in more than 2,000 doors. At the booth of Automatic System, visitors could get an impression of the Slim Lane 940 barrier. DOM Security presented its door fitting Guard and the new furniture lock, which is also managed by the Tapkey app.
